Benefits of NAD

Benefits of NAD+
NAD+ has many benefits for overall health, including:

– Improving cognitive function

– Assisting in weight management

– Boosting energy levels

– Aiding in muscle development and recovery

– Supporting pain management

– Improving mood

History and Research of NAD+
NAD+ was first discovered in 1906 by Sir Arthur Harden and William John Young during their groundbreaking research on fermentation, where yeast transforms sugar into alcohol and CO2. This initial discovery laid the foundation, but it wasn't until nearly two decades later that NAD+ gained significant recognition. In 1929, Harden shared the Nobel Prize in Chemistry with Hans von Euler-Chelpin for their pioneering work on fermentation. Euler-Chelpin's identification of NAD+ as a molecule composed of two nucleotides, the fundamental units of DNA, was a revelation. This discovery that NAD+ was crucial to fermentation—a vital metabolic process—unlocked a new realm of research into metabolism and cellular function, sparking scientific advancements that continue to unfold today.

Addiction Recovery

As providers, we find the findings from a mid-2019 FDA report on NAD+ therapy alongside specific amino acids to be incredibly encouraging. According to the report, this combination has shown remarkable success in nearly resolving addictions to opioids, benzodiazepines, and alcohol. NAD+ (nicotinamide adenine dinucleotide) has demonstrated efficacy in alleviating cravings and withdrawal symptoms in individuals struggling with these addictions. This is promising news for patients seeking recovery, as NAD+ therapy could offer a viable path to overcoming addiction and reclaiming their lives.
